Che cos'è la sfida di Giallografia?
E' proprio ciò che è scritto, ovvero una disfida che la Redazione di Giallografia, in separata sede dalle cose de L'Indizio Nascosto, lancia ai suoi lettori italiani e stranieri.
I termini della sfida
Semplicissimi: l'Indizio Nascosto 2008 si è chiuso senza un vincitore. Ancora una volta non si è potuto eleggere un Giallista dell'Anno. E' ferma convinzione di questa Redazione che il giallo geniale alla Agatha Christie, alla John Dickson Carr non esista più, non venga più prodotto: c'è qualcuno che vuole raccogliere la nostra sfida è provare il contrario?
Le regole
1. Durante il periodo di sfida, la redazione accetterà un massimo di tre opere da visionare: due in lingua italiana, una in lingua inglese.
2. I testi raccomandati, editi da un qualsiasi editore italiano o internazionale, dovranno essere stati pubblicati nello stesso periodo in cui erano aperte le iscrizioni a L'Indizio Nascosto 2008, ovvero tra il 1 Ottobre 2007 e il 7 Giugno 2008.
3. I testi potranno essere raccomandati da chiunque, anche dai giurati de L'Indizio o dagli autori vicini a Giallografia. In questi due ultimi casi però, qualora il raccomandante risultasse vincitore de La Sfida, NON avrebbe diritto al premio in palio.
4. Modalità di partecipazione. Il lettore (qui di seguito chiamato padrino, e che potrebbe anche essere l'autore dell'opera presentata), che decidesse di raccogliere LA SFIDA, dovrà semplicemente inviare una e-mail alla Redazione di Giallografia indicando: il titolo dell'opera raccomandata e il nome del suo autore, i link (almeno una decina) alle recensioni che giornalisti ed altri autori hanno fatto a quest'opera, inclusi eventuali link a premi o diplomi vinti e che giustificano una simile raccomandazione. Inutile dire che il testo presentato dovrà anche essere in linea con gli scrict requirements di genere classico che sono poi gli stessi previsti per le opere in partecipazione a l'Indizio.
5. Alla scadenza del periodo di sfida, la Redazione visionerà le e-mail ricevute e sceglierà i testi, in numero uguale a quello indicato al punto 1, meglio raccomandati (parametri necessari per determinare la miglior raccomandazione saranno, per esempio, il numero di copie vendute, la rilevanza internazionale, i premi vinti e via così....). I testi selezionati verranno acquistati dalla Redazione stessa (questo vuol dire che il lettore che propone un testo NON deve inviarcelo, ma che per partecipare è sufficiente una e-mail, bello no?), letti e recensiti. I lavori saranno giudicati con la stessa severissima prassi adottata per l'Indizio. La Redazione di Giallografia sarà giudice inappellabile ma, costretto a motivare, nel dettaglio, le decisioni prese, e a renderle pubbliche, dato che ne va della sua stessa credibilità.
6. I titoli dei libri in partecipazione verranno pubblicati su Giallografia dopo la scadenza del periodo di sfida. I risultati de La Sfida 2008 saranno resi noti nella primavera del 2009 e al padrino del testo vincitore verrà immediatamente recapitato il premio in palio. Nel caso in cui il testo vincitore sia stato raccomandato da più lettori farà fede la data di ricezione e-mail. Chi primo arriva, vince!
7. Nel caso in cui nessun testo sarà stato sottoposto alla nostra attenzione, o nessun testo sarà stato proposto dagli autori vicini al sito, LA SFIDA verrà automaticamente vinta dalla Redazione di Giallografia.
8. La partecipazione a LA SFIDA implica l'accettazione incondizionata del presente Regolamento.
Il premio
La Sfida, alla maniera de L'Indizio, è un gioco per appassionati di genere. Il premio non sarà da meno. All'arguto lettore, vincitore de La Sfida verrà, infatti, recapitato un premio davvero eccezionale: ovvero, una prima edizione, originale, in lingua inglese, e ancora in buono stato, del celeberrimo Murder off Miami di DENNIS WHEATLEY del 1937.
Il premio messo in palio da LA SFIDA va al padrino raccomandante e non al testo raccomandato. Nulla è quindi dovuto al suo autore (se diverso dal padrino) o al suo editore. In NESSUN CASO, un eventuale testo vincitore de LA SFIDA, potrebbe reclamare i titoli e i premi messi in palio dal Premio Letterario L'Indizio Nascosto - Giallista dell'anno.
Scadenza
L'improrogabile data di scadenza per i padrini che intendessero accettare la nostra sfida, e dunque raccomandare un loro testo, è il 31 dicembre 2008.

What is Giallografia's La Sfida?
In Italian, la sfida means the challenge. And, as a matter of fact, LA SFIDA we are presenting here is actually a literary challenge launched by this site to its Italian and international readers.
Our challenge
Very simple: the final results of the Hidden Clue Award - Crime Writer of the Year 2008 Literary Prize have just been published and no winner was declared. It is a firm believe of the authors of this site that, out there, there is no contemporary writer capable of producing the type of genial detective stories that, during the so-called Golden Age (broadly speaking, of course!), have created the myths of John Dickson Carr, Agatha Christie and the likes. Do you want to prove us wrong? Accept our challenge!
Terms & Conditions
1. The maximum number of books that Giallografia will accept in partecipation to this peculiar literary game is three: two in Italian and one in English.
2. Our challenge is launched to italian and internationally detective novels (classical genre only) published during the period in which the Hidden Clue 2008 literary contest was running, that is to say from the 1st of October 2007 to the 7th of June 2008 only.
3. Anyone, among the Giallografia readers, is allowed to recommend a book for this contest. However, should the winner of LA SFIDA be a text recommended by a member of the jury of the Hidden Clue Award and/or a Giallografia'site author, he/she would NOT be entitled to the prize offered by LA SFIDA.
4. How can you partecipate to this contest? Whether a reader, or an author, you only need to send an e-mail to Giallografia and provide details of the work you want to recommend. In particular you need to provide: its title, the name of its author (if different from yours), at least ten links to major literary sites where the artistic quality of this specific work is outlined, any links to international prizes won by the book you are recommending and, in truth, whatever information can help you to sustain your thesis. LA SFIDA accepts classical detective stories type of works only which strictly follow the rules proposed by S. S. Van Dine or any of their modern revisitations.
5. The titles of the books which will have gained the right to partecipate to this year's LA SFIDA will be published on our site, immediately after the challenge period will have expired. Giallografia will then purchase a copy of the most recommendable books (the criteria used to choose them will be based on the number of copies sold, on the quality of reviews received, on the number of prizes won, etc) and will review them following, once again, the strict rules that apply to the selection of the winner of the Hidden Clue Award Literary Prize (this also means that you DO NOT need to send us the books your are recommending to win, but that a recommendation e-mail will suffice! Great, isn't it!). The www.giallografia.com publishers and authors will be the only authorised and unquestionable judges of this context, however, all their decisions will have to be strongly motivated and will have to be made public.
6. The winning book of LA SFIDA, as well as the name of the reader who recommended it, will be revealed in 2009. The prize will be delivered immediately afterwords to the reader who recommended it. Should there be more than one presenter who recommended the winning text, the date on the email sent to present the book will be used as a means to determine the winning reader. Hurry up, then!
7. Should no books be recommended by any of the parties entitled to do so, Giallografia's authors will have automatically won this year's challenge and no prize will be due.
The prize
LA SFIDA, just like the Hidden Clue Award is a literary game for classical detective stories lovers. The prize offered to the winner of the contest, cannot be but in line with these status quo. And, as a matter of fact, it is an exceptional one: that is to say, an original english language copy, still in very good shape, of the well-celebrated 1937's Murder off Miami by DENNIS WHEATLEY.
The prize offered by LA SFIDA in due to the person (whether a reader or its author) who recommended the winning book for review only and nothing is due to the winning text itself or to its author or to its publisher. Under NO CIRCUMNSTANCES the winning book of LA SFIDA will be assigned the titles due to the winner of the Hidden Clue Award - Crime Writer of the Year Literary Prize.
Expiry Date
Any text presentation e-mails must be sent to Giallografia by the 31st of December 2008. Any presentation received afterwords will not be taken into consideration and no complaints will be accepted.
